After the huge battle that we undertook just to get into NSW to get this season restarted it looks like we may have to gear up for another move, with the AFL and NRL fleeing NSW in the midst of rising COVID cases is it possible that the A-League will be the last to relocate again?
You would have to assume that Greg O'Rourke and his team have learnt from the mistakes of the previous border dash and will be able to get teams out early enough if the situation presents but the question is, should the A-League follow the lead of the AFL and start preparing a QLD hub for all of the clubs now so that it's not a last-minute rush like the last move?
The AFL has games scheduled to be played in NSW up until July 27th, just one week into the A-Leagues current restart plan. After this period at a minimum, the Victorian clubs will head north for the remainder of the season where the AFL has already made arrangements for them. A source close to the club has revealed that so far there have been no discussions of this move or any plan B options. Is Queensland the best place to go to keep the season alive?
