Luna amazes staff and players with incredible isolation results

Adrián Luna has done it tougher than most professional athletes these past few months.

Having made the difficult decision to temporarily depart the club to return to his family in Uruguay throughout the initial lockdown period, the midfielder recognised that there would be significant ground to be made up upon his eventual return to Melbourne, with the rest of the squad able to commence full-scale training at the CFA earlier than their South American teammate.

After successfully re-entering the country in early June, Luna drove his individual training regime to a whole new level during his mandatory two-week quarantine period.

According to a source close to the club, the Uruguayan put himself through three training sessions a day within the confines of his hotel room and returned to the club in unbelievable shape, with his fellow teammates just as impressed as the coaching staff at the fitness base he’d built up when the midfielder was finally able to rejoin for his first (and only) group training session before the COVID enforced move to NSW.

Unfortunately for Luna, Victoria’s second wave forced the squad to enter a NSW hub shortly after his re-arrival, with the playing group and staff now undertaking another mandatory 14-day quarantine period.

According to the source, the squad have been confined to their rooms with a COVID scare amongst the Victorian travelling party.
