Defensive duo re-signs

Melbourne City today has announced two key re-signings with defensive rocks, Curtis Good and Tom Glover both extending their contracts that were due to expire at the end of the 20/21 season.

Good has signed on for a further 3 seasons with Glover signing on for 2 more seasons. Good signed with Melbourne after a stint in England which was plagued

by injuries and saw Good return to the club that gave him his start in the A-League, since returning Good has shown his class and continued to excel at A-League level. Glover was a Tottenham youth prospect and came down to Melbourne after a loan stint with Central Coast, once he arrived at City he has become the undisputed #1 at City and is the starting goalkeeper for the Olyroos. Glover will be looking to lock in his place at the Tokyo 2021 Olympics provided that event takes place.

These signings secure two mainstays of Kisnorbo's defensive structure. Michael Petrillo said of the signings “Despite his young age, Tom has shown the enormous talent he has in a short period of time and I am sure he will continue to develop and take his game to another level with Melbourne City in the years to come.

“To also have secured the services of one of the A-Leagues key defenders for a further three years beyond this current season speaks volumes about the football program we have here at City and our commitment to build a stable and strong roster in the ensuing years.

“It’s a credit to our medical and sports science staff and to the commitment of Curtis to see how well he has performed over the last couple of years. I am sure Curtis still has his best football in front of him so we are thrilled that he will be with us long term.” The move ensures that should Glover continue to excel at A-League level and attract interest from overseas suitors then City will be able to demand a transfer fee. In other signing news, Melbourne City has secured youngster Jordan Bos who starred in the curtain-raiser game before the preseason friendly against Bentleigh Greens. Jordan's contract will run out in June next year.
